Finding Own Speaking Style
- Date: October 11, 7:00 pm
- Duration: 2 hours (drinks and light snacks included)
- Location: Makespace (Quill city mall)
- Speaking in public you have to look natural and be yourself, yet you also have to manage the perception that others have of you. This workshop bridges the gap, helping people to discover own speaking style or elements that can later transform into a style
Before you get yourself into a 2-days workshop,
let me tell what to expect.
Time is divided between 4 objectives:
%
Principles of teaching adults
What’s going on in your listeners heads. How can you use it to your advantage!
%
Information Architecture
How to prepare and structure a powerful presentation out of your content.
%
Body language
Get comfortable on the stage. How not to let your body give away your fear.
%
Practice
Your public speaking knowledge does not count unless you’ve practiced. It’s only fun with a real audience!
Agenda
here is what you should expect of the 2 days workshop
4 reasons to opt for the 2 days workshop
It’s cozy
We’ll limit number of participants to 10 people only. A whole day of practice is a reason for that. I want to make sure each and every person gets his individual time when all eyes are on him.
It’s practical
50% of the workshop time is dedicated to practice. Other 50% of time you’ll be preparing for that practice session. You can come in with just a topic for a presentation and walk out with a ready to present speech.
It’s suited for beginners
Workshop modules are covering wide range of topics. It’s like the ABCs for those who are just starting their path as presenters and public speakers.
It’s a group learning
Public speaking requires public. Workshop is designed so all the participants have a chance to feedback each others presentations. You’ll learn a lot knowing how others perceive you while on the stage.
Some people are wondering
Q: Do I need to prepare a presentation topic before coming to the workshop?
Q: Is lunch included?
Q: How much time will I have for individual practice?
A: It’s good if you have a topic in mind for the second day. Something you actually want to present about, it will just things more real for you. If you don’t have one though, no worries. We’ll fix you something from “presentation ready topics” box.
A: Yes, starving orators are no good. Lunches for 2 days are included. You will also have few coffee breaks each day. Those are not in the agenda, because we’ll take them when we fill like it.
A: On the first day practice is done in pairs. Each pair has a presentation slot of 15 minutes, which leaves about 7 minutes of stage time for each of the participants. After this day you’ll get a written feedback from trainer and from your peers. On the second day each participant will have 30 minutes of practice all to himself. In this 30 minutes you’ll present a snippet of your training, get oral feedback and watch a little recording of your own presentation.
